Tutors: Christiane Anderson – People Before Process
Date: Thursday, October 8th, 2020
Duration: 90 minutes
Venue: Online

Course Profile:
This course, run in partnership with Screen Skillnet, is designed to help teams/productions where some of the team is working onsite/set and others are working remotely. When working on a production the production becomes your life, for that period of time, but in these strange times many crew members are still working remotely. This course delivers more than just tips on attending meetings and completing tasks, it provides the skills and tools to bring everyone on the team together, regardless of where they are physically working. In order to create a collaborative workplace online, we have to focus on different things to combat the “out of sight, out of mind” mentality, and increase that sense of team. In this workshop we explore how to better collaborate online, and the various tools and techniques for building trust and increasing camaraderie online.
You will walk away with a good understanding of the things to think about when managing a hybrid team [mix of virtual and office/production based], with a focus on behaviours, trust, human connection, inclusion, and managing by outcomes.
Session Learnings:
- How good is your online collaboration?
- What does a productive virtual office look like?
- Master remote communication
- Make the best of time zones
- How to make your work visible to your remote team
- Techniques for virtual team building
Please note: A version of this course is being offered on a Saturday to accommodate those in production midweek. If you are in production and would prefer a Saturday session please click here.
