JOB-SHARE EVENT FOR THE SCREEN INDUSTRY

Event: Job-Share workshop with Share My Telly Job 

Date: Thursday April 28th

Time: 7.30pm – 9.30pm 

Screen Ireland, Screen Skillnet, Screen Guilds of Ireland and Raising Films Ireland are delighted to be developing a workshop and speed-dating event with SHARE MY TELLY JOB this April. 

Raising Films Ireland recently launched their first report “The Pursuit of Change, Issues Affecting Parents and Carers in Ireland’s Screen Industries”. The findings were stark but have provided the industry with a roadmap for change. 

Flexible working and job-sharing featured highly as potential supports across the board and so we are delighted to be running this workshop/speed-dating event with www.sharemytellyjob.com an advocacy group supporting job-sharing to help all freelancers achieve a better work-life balance and continue to thrive in an industry they have dedicated their working lives to.

Format: 

• Michelle from Share My Telly Job will open the workshop by giving you an overview of job-sharing (what it is, what to look for in a partner etc. She will do an abridged version of the presentation she previously did for us, which you can view here if you haven’t already seen that. There will be an opportunity for Q&A) 
• Michelle will then welcome onto the call a UK based job-sharing couple who will give you an insight into how their partnership works, and will offer tips and tricks that should help you as you enter into a job-share in the future. 
• During the final 30-40 minutes of the workshop we will place all attendees into breakout rooms by department with a view to sparking conversations that could lead to new job-share partnerships. Please note that where we do not have enough attendees to create a breakout room for a specific department, we will create a ‘general breakout room’ that Michelle will oversee and will offer more tailored advice on seeking job-shares outside of the workshop)
