Course Profile:

With flexible working and job-sharing featuring highly in the Raising Films Ireland report “The Pursuit of Change, Issues Affecting Parents and Carers in Ireland’s Screen Industries” the data now exists to support the theory that screen industry staff and crew want more sustainable, balanced and family friendly careers.

On the heels of our recent job-share workshop and speed-dating event for crew, Screen Ireland + Screen Skillnet are delighted to bring this job-share information session to Irish producers to offer insights into how they can support their staff and crew in working more flexibly.

The 2hr session will feature:

  • Michelle Reynolds, co-director of SHARE MY TELLY JOB, a UK based community organization that supports staff and crew looking for a better work-life balance. Michelle will give an overview of her organization and the opportunities that job-sharing presents. (12pm-12.45pm)
  • Rachel Jones and Katie O’Brien, job-sharing standby art directors on TV series WATERLOO ROAD, will discuss how they make their job-share work. (12.45pm – 1.15pm)
  • Rhiannon Coyne a HR Specialist from GRAPHITE HRM will round out the session by highlighting the legal obligations producers must consider when hiring job-sharers. (1.15pm-2pm)

Please note the session will be recorded and a password protected link will be available after the session to producers that could not attend.

 

Participant Profile:

This session is aimed at experienced producers with industry track record who have made industry shorts/features or TV series.

Tutor Profile:

Michelle Reynolds joined Share My Telly Job following a 17 year career as a Producer and Director in Factual and Entertainment Television in the UK and the US.  Highlights included House Hunters International for Leopard USA, 100 Year Old Driving School for RDF and Deal or No Deal for Endemol.

Michelle then went on to work as the High-End TV Manager for ScreenSkills, where she became involved with the world of TV drama and ran a number of successful training programmes, including a Return to Work scheme with Film London.

Michelle now works solely for Share My Telly Job and is passionate about promoting job-sharing as the best way of keeping talented, experienced and diverse freelancers in the industry.

Rhiannon Coyne holds a Bachelor of Social Science degree from Maynooth University and a MSc in Human Resource Management from Smurfit Business School, Dublin. Rhiannon has a vast range of HR industry experience, ranging from the homecare industry, retail and most recently a long-standing role within the hospitality sector including experience at head office level. She has vast experience dealing with investigations, grievance and disciplinaries. Rhiannon’s extensive recruitment experience includes heading European wide recruitment initiatives.

Rhiannon has a keen interest in employee engagement, training and policy development. She brings a vast array of experience with her into Graphite.
