In collaboration with Screen Skills Ireland, this hands-on programme is aimed at film producers and production personnel who wish to create and edit schedules and budgets of all sizes for all types of productions.

Course Profile:
Participants will be taught the time-saving facilities of EP Movie Magic Budgeting and Movie Magic Scheduling, the industry’s most widely used scheduling and budgeting software.
Scheduling
This will enable them to compile their schedules in the most effective way and allow them to quickly, and confidently modify, their work when required. The training sessions will utilise and provide considerable background information to put the practical use of the software clearly into perspective. Participants will be allocated a computer each, which will have EP Movie Magic Scheduling downloaded and ready to use. Areas covered during this training include:
- Overview of EP Movie Magic Scheduling
- Introduction to Scheduling
- Marking-up a Script
- Inputting Information
- Scheduling Procedures
- Reporting
Budgeting
This will enable them to compile their budget in the most effective way and allow them to quickly, and confidently, modify their work when required. The training sessions will utilise and provide considerable background information to put the practical use of the software clearly into perspective. Participants will be allocated a computer each, which will have EP Movie Magic Budgeting downloaded and ready to use. Areas covered during this training include:

- Introduction to Budgeting
- Setting-up your Budget format
- Exercise in Globals and Fringes
- Budgeting Principles and Practices
Brian is a member of the board and the membership committee of the Production Guild.
As a line producer, Brian has experience of a wide range of budget levels from TV and low budget features up to and including US major features both at home and abroad.
His career has covered a wide range of the grades represented by the Production Guild having worked as location manager, assistant director, UPM, and line producer. Recently, Brian has worked as UPM on Allied, King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, and Pan.
He is committed to training and skills development and regularly teaches on both long and short PG training courses.
Please note: Ideally every participant will have a laptop and a copy of Movie Magic Budgeting and Scheduling. If not please email fran.keaveney@screenskillsireland.ie as we will have a limited number of computers already loaded with MM available for the course.
